Simple Maintenance of your Resin Bound Driveway
Even though a Resin Bound Driveway is very low-maintenance, it can be beneficial to maintain a level of care if you wish for it to reach its full warranty life. Maintenance is straightforward, simple and cost-effective. Here are some of our frequently asked questions about aftercare, and our advice to help you keep your driveway at its peak.
Should I clean my drive?
Resin driveways or paths don't require a lot of attention but we always say it's good to give it a sweep now and then with a stiff broom. This will remove leaves and prevent any moss growth.
Can I jet wash my drive?
If you wish to jet wash your resin drive the surface should be cleaned with a pressure washer or a sweeper fitted with water jetting and vacuuming equipment. Keep the nozzle 20cm or further away from the resin as too close could cause damage to the surface. The best technique is to use a back and forth sweeping motion.
How do I remove chewing gum from a resin-bound driveway?
Chewing gum once hardened, can be difficult to remove. If you cannot remove it through sweeping or jet washing, try using a freezing spray on the gum before carefully removing it with a wall scraper or similar tool.
Will I get any moss or algae through my resin-bound driveway?
Weed growth will be treated prior to surfacing and it is highly unlikely that any new growth will be sustained. If any moss and algae are found killer periodically if necessary to remove or prevent regrowth. Keep an eye on leaves, especially during Autumn as removing these regularly can help prevent moss growth. A strong bleach can also work on algae to remove it and restore the colour or the surface.
I spilt oil on my resin-bound driveway what can I do to remove it?
We advise any spillages should be cleaned immediately and flushed with water. You can use a mild household detergent mixed with warm water and then rinse down with a jet wash.
We hope we have helped you answer some of your maintenance questions for your resin driveway. We take pride in the driveways we install and we want them to stay in the best condition for our customers.
